A Heartfelt Farewell: A Message from Louis Perno, Executive Director of Literacy Volunteers

Dear Friends of Literacy Volunteers,

As Executive Director at Literacy Volunteers for almost 7 years, it has been great working with so many dedicated partners as we carry out our mission to empower adults through literacy.

After much thought, I have decided to retire and resign from Literacy Volunteers as of June 28th. I feel that it is time for me to step down and concentrate on other personal goals. My time at LV has been a wonderful experience, and I am proud to have been part of such a vital organization that makes a significant impact on the lives of adults in our region. I believe much has been accomplished over the past several years and feel that LV has a stable foundation to continue its growth.

As the agency moves forward with this transition, the LV Board of Directors has appointed Erica Hoffman as Interim Executive Director. Erica has been part of the team at LV for 5 years and Program Director for the past 3 years, accumulating much knowledge about the operation of LV. The organization is in excellent hands during this time. Please communicate with Erica as you continue to work together to meet critical needs in our community. She can be reached at ericahoffman@lvagnh.org.

Again, I have truly enjoyed collaborating with so many committed organizations and individuals who have been wonderful “Partners in Literacy” for LV.

I’m so thankful for this great opportunity,

Most Sincerely,

Louis D. Perno, MSW
Executive Director
