End of Year Celebration – Meriden/Wallingford Program

We are delighted to announce that Literacy Volunteers of Greater New Haven held its first yearly End of Year Celebration on June 13th, 2023, at the Meriden Historical Society in Meriden, CT. It was an extraordinary event filled with inspiration, celebration, and the power of literacy. The event was a platform to recognize the remarkable achievements of our students. We applaud their determination and celebrate their accomplishments. They inspire us as they journey towards our vision in which the power of literacy enables all adults to thrive in their communities.

We were most honored to have esteemed keynote speaker Marissa Cardona. Her presence and words of wisdom uplifted our spirits and reaffirmed the importance of literacy and education in our community.

The End of Year Literacy Celebration was a testament to the dedication and hard work of our incredible volunteer tutors. Their selfless dedication and unwavering support have played a pivotal role in the success of our students. They truly are the backbone of our program. Their willingness to share their time, knowledge, and expertise is invaluable, and we are grateful for the impact they have made in the lives of our adult students.

We extend our deepest thanks to the Meriden Historical Society for graciously hosting our event and providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Their support and partnership have been invaluable in making this celebration a resounding success.

As we reflect on this memorable occasion, we recommit ourselves to the mission of Literacy Volunteers of Greater New Haven, continuing to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families through literacy education and empowerment.

We are immensely grateful to our staff and board members and all who attended, supported, and contributed to the success of our End of Year Literacy Celebration. Community support of our cause fuels our passion to create a community where every individual can thrive through the power of literacy. We all know that “Literacy is a matter of survival”!

Congratulations once again to our amazing students, and a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated volunteer tutors! We also express much gratitude to all our “Partners in Literacy”!
