End of Year Celebration – The Valley

On June 20, 2023, Literacy Volunteers of Greater New Haven held its End of Year Celebration at the Derby Public Library. The event was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the accomplishments of the program. Corinne Fucci, the Valley Program Manager, graciously welcomed the attendees and introduced a group of tutors, each of whom introduced their students to share their Hear Our Voices writing pieces.

Among the esteemed guests in attendance were Tischa Garcia, Family Support Coordinator for TEAM Inc., along with one of her dedicated Family Support Specialists. Their presence at the event highlighted the importance of collaboration and the shared commitment to supporting the community.

Another notable attendee was Bill Purcell, President and CEO of the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Purcell has consistently demonstrated his unwavering support for our organization’s initiatives and has been a key advocate within the Valley community.

Together, the presence of Tischa Garcia, Bill Purcell, and other community members made the End of Year Celebration a memorable event, reinforcing the collective efforts to promote literacy and empower individuals in the Valley Program.

A special thank you goes out to our dedicated volunteer tutors. Your selfless commitment and unwavering support have played a crucial role in the success of our programs. Your dedication to empowering others through literacy is truly commendable.
