About

Students

It’s never too late to improve your reading and English communication (speaking and understanding) or math skills.

Adults who would like to be tutored at Literacy Volunteers of Greater New Haven must be at least 17 years old and no longer in high school.

From beginner to advanced skill levels, our adult literacy classes offer flexible days and times to fit many different needs.

Literacy Volunteers offers three types of classes: Basic Literacy, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Math.

All classes are free.

  • Classes are usually twice a week.
